PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
Clinton Public School is currently accepting applications for “Preschool Pals”, our Inclusive Preschool, for the 2011-2012 school year. This Inclusive Preschool is designed to provide an opportunity for our current preschoolers to have exposure to their future peers in a structured setting. A teacher who is certified in both elementary education and special education, along with one full-time instructional aide, will teach the class. Instruction will address the Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards as designed by the New Jersey Department of Education. Applications for general education students are available at the Child Study Team Office or on the website, www.cpsnj.org.
Applicants must be Clinton or Glen Gardner residents and must be four years old on or before October 1, 2011. Applications will be due to the Child Study Team office no later than 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2011. A minimum of five students will be selected. If the number of applicants exceeds available slots, a lottery will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011. Parents will be notified whether their child’s name has been drawn and a meeting with the preschool teacher will be scheduled prior to formal acceptance. All other parents will be notified of their child’s number placement on the waiting list.
The Inclusive Preschool will be held daily from 12:15 to 2:45 pm and classes will follow the regular Clinton Public School calendar relevant to opening and closing dates and school holidays. The tuition will be $250.00 per month and parents will be responsible for transportation. Children must be toilet trained and immunization records must be up-to-date and available for the school nurse.
